The Montessori Method of education is a unique approach to learning.  The term “self-direction” rather than ”teaching” should be used to describe it.  The environment is designed in such a way that guarantees the child exposure to materials and experiences through which they develop intellectually and physically. The prepared environment takes full advantage of self-motivation and the unique abilities of the young child to develop their own capabilities, without the direction of a teacher.  Thinking of the child’s brain as a computer, the Montessori approach helps to organize and structure this “computer” so that the child can take information and neatly organize it.
