| When is the best time for a child to begin? |
|
|
| Dr. Montessori outlined various periods of “sensitivity” – time periods when the child would be sensitive to specific concepts. At the age of 18 months to 3 ˝ years, the child’s sensitivity to order, concentration, coordination, and independence begin to emerge. The Montessori classroom is perfect for this sensitivity in allowing the child freedom to select individual activities that correspond to their growth. |
