A special “thank you” goes out to all of the parents who came out on a beautiful September Saturday to clean out the shed for the Nature Center and prepare the anchors for the swing in the Toddler Center. Your efforts help make Christots just a little bit more special!!!

Speaking of the “learning process,” we have received books that you can purchase and take with you through “Books Are Fun.” This will allow your children to begin building their own library of reading materials. You can find the books on the back porch of the school. (New items have been brought in since this past Thursday.)

The fall season signals the advent of several events:
• Ms. Terri and Ms. Ginger’s room will have four weeks of soccer, Mondays, from 1:00 to 1:30 PM. Wednesdays, Ms. Angeline and Ms. Julia’s room, as well as Ms. Marci’s room, will have soccer from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.
• Tuesday, October 9th, we will have Parent Education Evening beginning at 6:30 PM at the school. The topic will be classroom and home discipline, and a light dinner will be served. Childcare will be provided at the Toddler Center. I hope you will be able to attend. Part of the Montessori Method is to have such evenings to assist the parents with skills they can use at home to further the learning and growth of their children. Your presence is an important part of this process!
• Fundraiser orders are due back by October 10th.
• The Fire Department will be coming on Thursday, October 11th, at 10:00 AM. They will be located in front of the school, and will discuss fire safety. October is Fire Safety Month; perhaps you can speak with your children concerning fire safety procedures in your homes.
• Mr. Michael will be coming to Christots for music classes on the next three Thursdays, October 11th, 18th, and 25th.
• Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, October 19th, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Please make sure you have sent in your preferred times for conferences, and please be on time for your conferences.
• October 30th is the date for the Classroom Harvest Fest. It will take place in the afternoon, with arts and crafts. Your contributions for the “festival” treats are most welcome. Please see your child’s teacher for specifics. (This is in lieu of a Halloween Party.)
