The Infant Program at Christots Country Montessori Day School begins from birth and extends to the age of three, when the children can move on to the Children’s House (ages 3 through 6).
Dr. Maria Montessori believed that the formative years of infancy were important in allowing the child to develop naturally and optimally. The environment in our program is structured to maximize the development that occurs within a child, making the child better prepared and more capable when he or she enters the preschool program.
Through the Infant Program the child is exposed to Montessori materials that will enhance the child’s development in phonetic and language areas, as well as in areas of gross and fine motor skills through physical and musical activities. The mix of ages allows the child to learn from the modeling and assistance of the other children. The child’s ability to achieve personal independence and attain self-care skills is enhanced through the activities and structure of learning within the Montessori Method.
The child will be more advanced when he or she enters the preschool program of the Children’s House.
